Assignment #19 Research and Inspiration

Research:
Azul Salon and Spa-
colors
-shades of blue
-pink, white, and black
-pink, gold, white

i really like this design. i think using the scissors as a K is very creative and the colors also look good together

i like how they use scissors to make an A and it looks good


stationary package:

everything flows and has good unity; i like how the paper is light green with a white design on the paper


everything matches and flows well together; the colors look good and the same design is used on each thing

letter head:
-printed piece of paper used to send letters, memos, etc.
-includes: logo, company address, phone #, fax #, web address
-has to be 8.5 X 11
-must be vertical orientation
-must leave room to write the letter, memo, etc.

envelope design:
-standard #10
-packaging contains the letters/forms when being mailed
-logo and company name
-company address

Assignment #18 Research and Inspiration

wordmarkword mark or logotype is a standardized text logo or graphic representation of the name of a company, institution, or product name used for purposes of identification and branding.



I like that this design is simple but also creative by connecting all the letters to make an interesting looking visual logo out of three characters

this word mark is fun and creative because it is centered towards kids. they used a fun text to make the kids interested in it

I really like how the tree trunk is a 1 for 1 dollar!

I like how the T is the trunk and I like the design of the top

I really like how the words make the shape of a tree

Logotype Notes

-a logotype is a graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations, and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition

-they are commonly referred to as LOGOS

-many inventions have contributed to the contemporary logo

-as the industrial revolution developed, photography and lithography contributed to the boom of logo advertising

-playful children's books, newspapers, and conversational periodicals developed their own visual and editorial styles for unique, expanding audiences.

5 Principles of Effective Logo Design:

1) Simple: simplicity is neat and easily recognizable
2) Memorable: achieved by keeping it simple and appropriate
3) Timeless: will it stand the test of time? will it still be effective in 20 or 30 years?
4) Versatile: works across a variety of media and applications; designed in a vector format (illustrator) to ensure that they can scale it to any size
5) Appropriate: for the intended audience; child-like should be colorful with a fun font

Spot color: a method of specifying and printing colors in which each color is printed with its own ink

Pantone Matching System:a system by pantone in which every printer in the world uses the same inks

Choose color wisely: color can illicit different feelings and emotions from the audience

Types of Logos:
1. combination mark: a logo or design that contains both text and a visual


Iconic/Symbolic-compelling yet uncomplicated images that are emblematic of a particular company or product
Wordmark/Lettermark- only incorporate text
